Create Your Website for Search Engines

Placed in Website Tricks | April 11th, 2009

When designing a website, it is easy to focus on what your visitors are to see. What you have to realize, but you are on another type of visitor with a different kind: they are not with us, your beautiful logo and is not to stop your color d background. What they want is the content and structure of your site.

They are search engines and Spider, and probably control most of the transport. You must request these spiders if you want your site to be successful. Proceed as follows.

Ask a clear structure.

Do not succumb to the temptation of your site, non-standard options you want, it is very clear, the search engine, where navigation is, if the content is and where the positions are. Typically, first in your site navigation. Always use the title tags (H1, H2, etc.) for headings and subheadings.

Avoid using generic span and div tags and things are clear to the user through CSS font sizes: instead, with all the “semantic” HTML days, the same goes for your content. When quoting someone, use the blockquote-days, if you send the program code, you can use the code date. Love search engines.

Do you keywords conformity.

It is not worth a general rule, recognizes saturate with keywords in hope of greater Ranking search – engines have wised to this tactic – but make sure your keywords are used significantly, so natural. For example, for this article, I was stuck “website” so, when suddenly in writing “site” instead of my league.

HTML and Javascript.

It should be noted that search engines read HTML, but they do not generally see the Javascript. This means that using JavaScript to display text in your page is a bad idea, if you have search engines, to see the text. On the other hand, you can only text in HTML format and add all the other elements of the page with Javascript: this will tend to better target your page, but you should be careful not to links this way if you want search engines to follow.

Use the meta tags.

Yes, meta-tags are in vogue, and search engines do not pay attention which did not when it comes to the position of your site, but they are increasingly important, d a way: the meta description tag is becoming more often used to decide which search engine user to see if your site in their results and can be as important as the classification itself – something that will the benefit of researchers, and you tend to click-through. Remember that search engines are just machines and algorithms, the result was a man of decision: to click or not click?

Avoid Splash Pages.

You might think it’s a good idea of a “Splash”, a page with the pages of your logo (or message) for each user that comes to your website, search engines, but really, that hatred. With this tour, you will receive a lower rank, as in the rule, you should avoid him – he is angry for visitors as well.

Add Alt tags.

Each time you use an image, even Alt-text for it – especially if the text in the above chart. Remember, as far as search engines are concerned, all images can also be that only large “black boxes”. Test yourself by your graphs and see if the content remains relatively intact. If this is not the case, you will be away from search engines.

Finally, Write Great content.

The key to modern search engines (and at the same time, what you have under control), as many people choose to link to your page of their site. How can more people link to you? Make your content useful. Put yourself in something, what they want on their blogs of citations. Content is king as it ever was and the best way for search engines to your content really is.
